We've been testing our auction software - and seem to have it figured out. Now it's time to test the waters...and see if you think it's a good idea.

We're starting with some easy items - Cathy Hatch's new CD, 'Not Goin' Back' that's being released on Friday and an hour's worth of on-site / on-the-phone / email technical support.

So tell us what you think...and if you're in favour of auctions, what items you'd like to see us auction off.

If you vote, you'll get a ballot to win a copy of Cathy's new CD. And you'll get another ballot if you include a comment.

I may be a pessimist, but I'm not so sure that Fredericton will respond well to online auctions. I think it's a great idea to try, and I'm hoping it will work. I'll be keeping an eye on what gets put on the block.

I think it also worth a try...but I am unsure of what it is you plan to auction off so that may change my opinion.

I love auctions whether they be live, radio, tv or online. I've participated in a few different online auctions in Fredericton & found they didn't get the response I would have thought. I'm not sure if it was lack of advertising or lack of interest from the general public.

I said yes in the poll but then got to thinking...who benefits from the auctions? If the proceeds go to worthy causes, then I think its a great idea....otherwise its pretty much just another ebay....

I don't think an auction would take off. Kijiji tried it for maybe a week and decided it wouldn't work. They left it for thier parent company Ebay.

I just can't imagine thier being a demand for it here in Fredericton.
